Fit-Out Project Manager – Gatwick Airport Salary: £85k-£95k Location: Gatwick Airport (Airside) Fairmead is recruiting on behalf of a key client for an exceptional Fit-Out Project Manager to deliver a major airside refurbishment project at Gatwick Airport. This role offers the opportunity to oversee high-value, high-profile works within one of the UK’s busiest live environments with values ranging from £3M to £10M, under an NEC contract. The Role This opportunity requiring an experienced Project Manager who thrives in challenging, live operational environments. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the complete delivery of airside fit-out works, managing projects from pre-construction through to final handover. * Work closely with the client, professional teams, and subcontractors to ensure all works are executed efficiently and meet the required specifications. * Lead project planning, programming, and cost management, ensuring strict adherence to NEC contractual requirements. * Drive forward progress while maintaining compliance with Gatwick’s unique systems and permit processes. * Manage stakeholder relationships, delivering a seamless project experience and minimising disruption in a live operational environment. * Implement robust health and safety protocols in line with CDM regulations, ensuring a safe and productive site. * Take a proactive approach to problem-solving, offering value engineering solutions and buildability advice to optimise project outcomes. Candidate Requirements This role requires an experienced professional with proven expertise in delivering fit-out projects in complex live environments, particularly within aviation. We are looking for: * A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing fit-out or refurbishment projects in the construction industry. * Recent and relevant experience working at Gatwick Airport, with a thorough understanding of their processes, systems, and permit requirements. * In-depth knowledge of NEC contracts, technical construction methods, and M&E systems. * Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire and manage multidisciplinary teams. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. * Qualifications including an SMSTS, CSCS card and First Aid certification, along with a recognised qualification in construction or a related field.
