The Head of Solutions Development will champion our organisation\’s solutions development across websites, software, and business intelligence, driving transformative change at every level.

You\’ll lead a development team and collaborate with third-party partners to deliver IT and Digital Transformation projects. These initiatives will be the catalysts for our growth, modernising our technology and enhancing operational efficiency.

This position blends technical leadership with strategic oversight, ensuring that our digital solutions not only support our current organisational growth but also meet future business demands.

What will you be doing as a Head of Solutions Development?

Working within the Technology and Transformation Team you will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive transformation strategy aligned with business objectives and focused on modernisation, integration, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Heads of Business Systems and Ecommerce to develop and maintain a future-oriented roadmap, and to ensure alignment and smooth implementation of solutions.
  • Lead Drupal, Software, and BI developers to deliver website and internal systems development and integrations.
  • Implement agile development processes and robust project management methodologies to successfully deliver transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure cohesive, scalable, and future-proof systems architecture, maintaining seamless integration and data flow.
  • Execute digital transformation strategy using internal and third-party resources, rationalising in-house solutions to a core suite.
  • Manage transition to \”out of the box\” solutions, engaging external resources for digital transformation and support.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and building strong relationships.
  • Ensure solutions meet stringent security, compliance, and data protection standards.
  • Implement governance frameworks to manage technological risk and maintain system reliability.

What Skills and Experience do you need?

We are looking for candidates with the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience with a proven track record of digital transformation delivered through both internal teams and external partners.
  • Proven experience leading software and website development teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Experience building high-performance teams and fostering innovation
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development processes and modern coding technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Drupal, C#, and .NET technologies
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and integration architectures
  • Understanding of payment systems and PCI compliance requirements
  • Experience implementing and championing agile development practices (Agile certification preferred )
  • Strong background in enterprise architecture and systems integration
  • Demonstrated ability to align technology solutions with business objectives
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
