We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who will play a key role in the development of our inclusive curriculum, and teaching, learning and assessment across the school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and all stakeholders to fulfil the vision and priorities of the school by developing strategic plans to further enhance the quality of education provided to our children.
You will be a knowledgeable school leader with experience of leading the curriculum across your school. Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will drive a consistent and coherent approach to curriculum delivery, blending traditional and digital methods to meet the needs of all learners.
You will also be an excellent classroom practitioner with experience across the key stages, including knowledge of EYFS. You will show a commitment to drawing upon the best innovation and learning based on educational research, and have experience of coaching and line managing staff. By providing professional development to staff, you will lead on improvements in teaching quality and pupil outcomes.
As Deputy Headteacher, you will work in collaboration with the Headteacher to lead the strategic development of teaching, learning and assessment across the school, use data to monitor progress and identify priorities to drive school improvement. You will have a proven track record of leading whole school projects and will be able to share the impact of initiatives that you have led. You will also act as a key leader in safeguarding, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
The successful candidate will be organised and have high expectations of themselves and others, and be able to manage multiple tasks in a large busy school environment. They must be empathetic with excellent interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator. They will also:
- Provide professional leadership and management of the curriculum, working with subject leaders to ensure a broad, balanced and digitally enriched offer that meets the needs of all pupils.
- Inspire, mentor and develop staff to enhance their teaching practices, particularly in curriculum development and the use of pedagogical technology.
- Design and implement initiatives that promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning to personalise learning to raise standards.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to monitor and assess pupil progress, setting high expectations for attainment and achievement.
- Lead on staff development through planning, implementation, and delivery of Continuous Professional Development.
- Act as a role model for professional practice, promoting a positive and collaborative school culture that embraces digital innovation.
- Deputise for the Headteacher when required and support in the day to day management of the school.
