Nottinghamshire County Council is looking for a talented Commissioning & Contracts Manager to lead the team that commissions and manages transport contracts. Worth in excess of £42m, these contracts enable residents across Nottinghamshire to access education, employment, training, health and leisure.

You will be required to lead on the commissioning of transport solutions and transport infrastructure and the monitoring of contracts to ensure contract compliance. You will lead a team that advises on the commissioning of home to school transport, special educational needs & disabilities transport, local bus and bus stop infrastructure. You will also be responsible for embedding the Procurement Regulations 2024 into the service area to ensure compliance and best practice contract management.
Essential job requirements
Extensive knowledge of financial planning and performance management.
Extensive experience of planning and organising work for a team in a complex service environment.
Experience of managing a team and enabling their high performance.
At least 5 years\’ experience in service development, contract commissioning and project management in a comparable environment.
Use of modern technology and systems in a major customer environment, to enhance management information and service delivery.
Extensive experience of developing services and working with internal and external partners.
Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills
Track record of working successfully as part of a team
Desirable job requirements
NVQ Level 5 in business management/commissioning/contract management or equivalent.
Experience working in or connected with transport.
Knowledge and understanding of commissioning transport legislation.
