Being a collection and delivery driver for DPD, you\’ll often be the first point of contact that our customers have with us, so providing a great service when you collect or hand over a parcel is just as important as collecting or delivering the parcel on time.
You are vital to providing a service that genuinely makes a difference to our customers.
Your key responsibilities will include: β Safely operating a 7.5 tonne vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
β Assisting with loading and unloading parcels at the depot at the start and end of each shift.
β Following a daily delivery and collection schedule, typically consisting of 50-60 stops around the designated area.
β Utilising the provided sack barrow/hand truck for heavier items to ensure safe handling of parcels.
β Accurately scanning and recording all parcel transactions using the company\’s electronic systems.
β Providing exceptional customer service, including clear communication and professional demeanour when interacting with clients.
β Adhering to strict time schedules to ensure timely collections and deliveries.
β Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
β Maintaining accurate logs of your driving hours in compliance with regulations.
β Adapting to route changes and unexpected situations, such as traffic or weather conditions.
β Ensuring the security and integrity of all parcels in your care throughout your shift.
β Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to optimise delivery routes and processes.
β Representing DPD in a professional manner at all times, including wearing the provided uniform and maintaining a tidy appearance.
To be considered for this role, you will need a valid C1 licence, Driver Qualification Card (DQC), and Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
You will also need at least 12 months of experience in this or a similar role.
