Project Director – Joinery Contractor – Suffolk

About:
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Director to join a leading company within the UK construction market, specialising in bespoke joinery solutions for commercial, residential, and specialist projects.

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for managing and directing contracts to completion within the Project Department, providing support to the Contracts Director. You will utilise your expertise to identify, pursue, and convert new opportunities into successful projects, contributing to business growth through networking and scouting new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing the commercial performance of projects.
  2. Working closely with the Divisional Senior Surveyor to monitor and report on profit and loss, with a strong focus on profit maximisation.
  3. Influencing and shaping the strategic direction of the department.
  4. Bringing passion, drive, and enthusiasm to fit into the company’s leadership team.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

  1. Management Qualification
  2. Joinery Experience
  3. In-depth knowledge of the construction industry
  4. Ability to fully understand detailed working drawings from architects and designers, covering all aspects of manufacturing, workshop construction, and installation
  5. Understanding of proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  7. Financial awareness, including the ability to read accounts
  8. Budget planning and sales forecasting experience
  9. Familiarity with the tender process and associated preliminary checks
  10. Mental Health First Aider (desirable)
