Key responsibilities:

As the Strategic Planning and Commercial Finance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our System business through Projects and Equipment revenue model. This position requires strong leadership, a sharp focus on detail, a drive for high performance, and a strategic mindset to maximize sustainable and profitable growth.

Short-Term Responsibilities

  • Single Point of Contact (SPOC): Serve as the primary SPOC for the Power System Business, establishing and driving clear monthly and annual performance targets. Ensure accountability and follow-through on actions to align with strategic objectives. Participate in the internal control process for reviewing deals, ensuring that all financial aspects are thoroughly evaluated as part of the approval chain.
  • Performance Analysis: Deliver comprehensive monthly performance analyses and conduct insightful business reviews to assess progress against established targets. Use data-driven insights to drive informed decision-making and implement immediate actions for improvement. Manage the end-to-end P&L with a hands-on approach, ensuring effective implementation of strategies to meet financial goals.
  • Month-End Duties: Take charge of all month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles and regulatory standards. Act decisively to resolve any discrepancies and streamline processes for timely reporting.
  • Project Accounting Duties: Oversee project accounting by tracking costs and ensuring alignment with financial forecasts. Drive the team to provide regular reporting to stakeholders on project status, risks, variances, and financial performance to support informed decision-making. Champion labour rate campaign and drive improvements on key KPIs (utilisation rate, under/over absorption, recovery…)

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Lead strategic planning initiatives by facilitating target-setting exercises and developing monthly forecasts that align with the long-term vision of the System business. Ensure plans are actionable and results-oriented.
  • Commercial Strategy: Collaborate in shaping the commercial strategy for the System Business, focusing on maximizing sustainable, profitable growth. Drive initiatives that enhance the overall Equity story and Stakeholder value with a commitment to execution.
  • Partnership: Forge strong partnerships with System business leaders, providing expert support and constructive challenges. Ensure effective actions are taken for both short- and long-term performance delivery, maintaining a focus on results.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate strategic plans, identifying potential risks and opportunities. Ensure compliance with the commercial strategy to achieve consistent profitable growth, implementing measures to mitigate risks proactively.

Leadership and Transformation

  • Leadership: Inspire and mentor a high-performing team of six, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment that drives engagement and elevates performance. Lead by example and ensure accountability for results.
  • Transformation Leadership: Champion transformative change initiatives to implement best in class business processes and tools. Facilitate E2E System organizational adaptation and growth by executing change effectively and monitoring progress.
  • Process Improvement: Lead cross-functional transformation and process improvement projects, leveraging advanced digital tools. Focus on enhancing insights and streamlining reporting processes to drive operational efficiency and deliver measurable results.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage financial risks. Provide strategic support to Plant Controllers and Project Controllers, ensuring they have the tools and insights needed to understand and mitigate risks within the Systems BU.

  • Project Management : Ability to lead cross-functional transformation projects, focusing on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Adaptability : Capability to champion change initiatives and facilitate organizational growth in a dynamic environment.

Education

  • Education: Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance related field.
  • Certification: ACA/ACCA or CIMA certification preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of combined accounting and finance experience.
