Job Purpose: Reporting to the Project/Site Coordinator, the post-holder will, in the capacity of a working supervisor, be responsible for the on-site team’s delivery of works to a high standard. Work will be completed in a safe and timely manner as per company and client expectations.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Ensure the site team adheres to the company’s working procedures through all stages of the project lifecycle including all health and safety, quality, environmental, and conduct requirements.
- Manage the delegation of tasks within the team to provide the most efficient plan to complete the project(s).
- Liaise with the Project/Site Coordinator to ensure all project requirements are running to schedule.
- Report all Health, Safety, and Environmental accidents and issues to the relevant management personnel immediately.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment including the team wears full PPE, at all times.
- Report any changes on site to management in a timely manner. This includes client instruction, changes to the working environment, changes to health and so on.
- Utilise Company communication platforms such as email, workplace, telephone etc to maintain effective two-way communication streams.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety bulletins, etc, ensuring all personnel receive necessary and relevant information consistently throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead on all aspects of health, safety and welfare on site. This includes, but is not limited to risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans etc.
- Follow all training and reasonable instructions given.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of timesheets to the Project Manager; administer the team’s financial measurement and completed works to ensure correct allocation under the PayGo scheme.
- Always take overall responsibility for the supervision of quality on site, ensuring procedures are followed and documentation is completed.
- Maintain site cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ensure the whole team always conducts itself in a professional manner.
- Take responsibility for the safe keeping of machinery and materials on given projects including ensuring equipment is off hired in a timely fashion.
- Work in line with company and client expectations with regards to hours on site. All deviations from agreed working patterns to be agreed with management in advance.
Essential:
- CSCS Blue card (training will be given).
- EUSR Water Hygiene Card (training will be given).
- Certificate in Confined Spaces (training will be given).
- SSSTS (training will be given).
- Experience of working on-site, in a supervisory capacity.
- Ability to work well leading a small team, as well as work alone and use own initiative to solve problems and complete daily tasks.
- Possess a conscientious and positive attitude to work.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces safely, following relevant training.
- Ability to act on initiative, particularly in respect to Health & Safety and report relevant matters.
- Demonstrate good driving skills in company vans. Driving will be monitored and tracked.
- Willingness to attend training courses, as and when required.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home, as and when required.
- Possess a full driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience gained within the clean, wastewater, and environmental sectors.
