Roofer – General Builder
Upkeep – Shettleston Community Enterprises Ltd
Salary: £32,677 (subject to uplift in April 2025)
40 hours per week

General Information
The Roofer/Builder will be part of Upkeep’s expanding void property and housing maintenance team, which delivers a multi-trade service to Upkeep’s parent company, Shettleston Housing Association and other external clients.
The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the successful completion of a recognised trade qualification and must be able to provide relevant documents to support this and be fully time served

The successful candidates will be provided with all relevant personal protection equipment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to undertake all types of roof work to a high standard including roughcast/render repairs including wet cast and dry dash.
- Ability to undertake all aspects of roofing works to a high standard including repair/replacement of concrete tiles and slates
- Ensure all works are properly risk assessed and undertaken following the appropriate safe working practice, risk assessments and safe working systems of work ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Regulations all works and assist in carrying out RAMS as required.
- Be in possession of a clean UK driving licence.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and plan work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Carry out agreed performance monitoring procedures and quality control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate a customer focussed approach.
- Must have a working knowledge of all statutory regulations, standards and codes of practice
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post and in line with the needs of Upkeep.
DESIREABLE
- Be compliant and experienced in the use and repair of leadwork i.e. flashings, skews , gutter seatings, oriel roofs, flat roofs all involving existing lead coverings
- To be able, if required to undertake general ground work tasks i.e. slabbing, path work, basic drainage and track digging, fence and post works etc.
