We are currently looking for a Class 1 Livestock Driver to join our Livestock team based out of our Watten, Caithness depot. In this role, you will deliver a professional and efficient HGV driving service, undertaking deliveries and collections of livestock on behalf of Wm Armstrong Group in the North of Scotland and England. You will comply with all relevant legislation including WTR and Drivers Hours Rules, load security, vehicle weights and dimensions and the Road Traffic Act, ensuring the safety of yourself and other road users at all times. You will also keep in regular contact with the office teams for updates on progress and managing customers expectations. To be successful in this role you will be a real team player, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and good geographical knowledge. You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence, a current DCPC card and digital tachograph card. Experience and knowledge of the livestock haulage industry is preferred, and holding a Long Distance Transport of Animals Certificate of Competence would be advantageous, but training may be available for the right candidate. In return we offer: a full-time position, 40 hours per week, working dayshift hours Monday to Friday at an hourly rate of £15.04* for hours worked between 06:00 18:00 and an hourly rate of £15.64* for hours worked outside of these hours. Overtime and enhanced rates also available for weekend working. There may be a requirement to sleep in your cab overnight for which you will receive a non-taxable Night Out payment of £26.20 per night.
