Job Title: Mechanical Electrical Engineer

Salary: £40,000 per year

Hours: 40 hours per week (Flexible start and finish times)

Job Overview:

Here at Careermakers, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Electrical Engineer to join our team in the recycling industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical bias (60%) with experience in mechanical maintenance. Previous experience working in a recycling facility and familiarity with Erma extrusion machines would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on recycling equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair faults in Erma extrusion machines and other production equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime.
• Work with control panels, PLCs, and automated systems (if applicable).
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with other engineers and production staff to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

Requirements:

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong electrical knowledge with a 70% electrical bias.
• Experience in the recycling industry (preferred).
• Familiarity with Erma extrusion machines (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
