Job Description

Glasgow City Council’s Summer Internship Programme will be available from Monday 9 June 2025 – Friday 29 August 2025, inclusive.

Applicants must be available for the full duration of the placement.

The intern will work 35 hours per week and rate of pay will be the Glasgow Living Wage. Interns will work for 12 weeks, during which time they will accrue 6 days leave, the payment of which is included in their Salary so must be taken during their 12-week placement.

Applicants require to be available week commencing 31 March 2025 for interview.

In 2021 the Glasgow City Region team developed a new Regional Economic Strategy
(RES). The RES identifies 12 programmes which are targeted to address three
Missions: to build an inclusive economy, enhance productivity and support the race
to net zero.

The team are now working with a range of stakeholders and partners from across
the City Region to develop the business cases for delivery of the 12 programmes.

An intern is required to help in this process, by providing support on two levels;
• Socio-economic research to help build an understanding of relevant existing
policies and demand
• Helping to inform the design of the new services including researching
similar activity operating in other parts of the UK/globally.

This will provide the intern with hands on experience of turning strategy and plans into action.
Eligibility criteria
• Must live within the Glasgow City Council boundary
• Have the right to live and work in the UK
• Be in the year of study specified in the advert
