A brand new fantastic role for a Senior/Principal Electrical Designer to join a unique business based just outside Birmingham city centre. A focused engineering team, they provide systems for some of the UK’s leading Automotive & Aerospace companies, working in partnership to develop bespoke technological systems.

This person will be a highly influential member of the team, remaining in a hands-on role but also taking the lead of a team of 3 including electrical & mechanical designers.
Senior Electrical Design Engineer – The Role:
- Supporting customer review meetings and generating proposal/specification documents
- Creating and reviewing designs for customer applications, ensuring they are not over-engineered and producing accurate BOM’s for handover to purchasing and manufacturing
- Producing technical drawings and schematics as required
- Good document control including engineering change control and drawing revision
- Creating documentation and performing risk analysis reviews to support UKCA / CE marking as appropriate
Senior Electrical Design Engineer – The Person:
- c5 years+ experience as an electrical design engineer, with good understanding of special purpose machinery/bespoke machine build
- Experience of EPlan highly advantageous, however training can be provided if you are competent with another electrical design platform
- Understanding of vehicle electrical systems & schematics very helpful, but not essential providing you have an interest to be involved in this area
- Proven ability to support and work with customers directly
- Proven background of providing team leadership/mentoring of other Engineers
Preferably, you will have solid mechanical understanding, with the ability to complete the initial mechanical scope to help support the design team.
