We are working on behalf of our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, to recruit a highly motivated and exceptionally organised individual for the role of Lead Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to take a pivotal position within the company, where you will demonstrate exceptional multitasking skills, manage multiple complex projects, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, a solid understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to drive processes and team development. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects, working collaboratively across teams to meet deadlines and maintain the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Organisation: Coordinate engineering tasks, allocate resources effectively, and manage schedules to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and develop a team of engineers, providing mentorship, conducting regular performance reviews, and fostering professional growth.
  • Adaptability and Multitasking: Efficiently manage simultaneous, complex projects with shifting priorities, balancing immediate deliverables with long-term objectives.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure all team outputs meet company quality standards, as well as regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to streamline operations, optimise resource utilisation, and improve processes within the engineering function.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the engineering team and other departments, ensuring effective communication and a consistent engineering service.
  • Culture and Team Unity: Promote a “one team” culture across the organisation, encouraging collaboration and supporting other teams where possible.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership: Set a high standard for health and safety within the team, ensuring compliance with company policies and fostering a culture of accountability and safety.
  • Strategic Communication: Represent the team in meetings, both internal and cross-functional, to provide updates on progress and align priorities with organisational goals.

Performance Measures:

  • Delivery of team projects on time and to a high standard, with progress measured against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Successful implementation of initiatives to enhance engineering processes and efficiency.
  • Development of strong relationships with team members, other departments, customers, and suppliers.
  • Evidence of customer-focused outcomes and the integration of value engineering principles within the team\’s processes.
