The College has a dedicated Apprenticeship Team and is in a secure position to grow this provision to continue to meet the needs of the local and regional community.

We are looking to appoint an ambitious, dynamic Motor Vehicle Trainer Assessor to join our team. You must be a highly skilled and motivated individual whose passion is to inspire students to excel and achieve the highest standards within the sector. The ideal candidate will have a background and understanding within the sector and will be able to support apprentices on the L3 Light Vehicle Motor Technician standard and any relevant mandatory qualifications at levels 2 & 3.

The role of a Motor Vehicle Trainer Assessor includes:

  1. Supporting apprentices through workplace coaching.
  2. Delivery of lessons.
  3. Preparing for end point assessment.
  4. Carrying out workplace assessments.
  5. Conducting progress reviews and setting action plans in conjunction with employers.
  6. Supporting apprentices with their personal development and understanding of wider skills topics.
  7. Performing IQA duties within an existing team.
  8. Developing the College’s offer of apprenticeship standards in conjunction with employer partners and awarding bodies.

Suitable candidates will possess a minimum of a level 3 motor vehicle qualification. A recognised assessment qualification (TAQA, A1, V1 or equivalent) would be advantageous for this role, along with an understanding of all aspects of workplace assessment; however, the college would support applicants to achieve these upon appointment. Knowledge and/or experience of using an e-portfolio system would be beneficial.

To comply with legislation, you are required to obtain a DBS check for your role. We will be asking Protocol National Ltd/Esafeguarding Ltd to undertake this process on our behalf.
