We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager to join our team. This role provides the chance to be part of our prestigious 295-home development in St Helens, Merseyside.
As a Design Manager, you will oversee the entire design process throughout the development’s life cycle. You’ll review design proposals from both internal and external consultants, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective build solutions are identified. The role will also involve attending internal and external design team meetings to collaborate and discuss progress. Additionally, the Design Manager will support the procurement department in evaluating alternative design solutions from sub-contractors and review design drawings to ensure compliance with building regulations. You will also be responsible for researching and recommending new products and alternative construction methods.
About You
This role requires an individual who holds an NVQ Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) and has demonstrable knowledge of Building Regulations and a good understanding of JCT (Joint Contracts Tribunal) contracts.
You’ll need to feel confident to make decisions based on sound reasoning and rational as well as having the ability to challenge constructively and articulate a point of view in relation to designs. A good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel along with an intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD design software and Adobe Acrobat is essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience of the design process for home developments and have experience of working with or a knowledge of the residential market.
