Assistant Director Housing Property Services
Up to £94k
Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid)
Around a 30-minute train journey from the centre of London, Dacorum occupies an enviable location just outside of the M25 and is home to the thriving towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring and surrounding villages. An active and green place, our borough is a buzzing centre of business, enterprise and ambition.
Right now, we are in the midst of an ambitious transformation programme within our Housing Service – reimagining how we deliver services to support a better customer experience and adapting to meet the requirements of new legislation.
With around 12,000 council homes which have 47,000 people living in them, the Council’s housing provision is an essential factor in the success and vibrancy of our community. Getting it right matters.
In 2024, the Council was pleased to receive a good C2 rating for its Housing Service, after being one of the first councils in the country to be inspected by the Social Housing Regulator.
The breadth of this role makes this such an exciting opportunity. You’ll lead across the full portfolio of housing asset management – covering property management, repairs & maintenance, compliance & adaptations, and contract commissioning and management. It’s a chance to come into an organisation that is really focused on place and communities; where momentum for change is already building; and where you will have real scope to contribute.
It’s an ideal move for a property professional who wants to work across a diverse portfolio. There’s already plenty of good practice to build on, and we have no intention of standing still.
