An innovative and fast-growing renewable energy developer is seeking an Assistant Town Planner to join its London-based team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career planner to play a meaningful role in the UK's transition to net zero by supporting the development of large-scale solar, battery storage, and other clean energy projects.

The Role

You will assist in the delivery of planning applications, appraisals, and stakeholder engagement for renewable energy projects across the UK. Working alongside experienced planners, technical consultants, and project developers, you'll help shape sites from feasibility through to consent and delivery.

About You

This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented graduate or early-career planner looking to work in the clean energy sector.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI-accredited preferred)
  • Working towards or recently achieved Licentiate or MRTPI status
  • 0-2 years of experience in a planning role ideal (public or private sector)
  • Interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and infrastructure development
  • Strong research and report writing skills
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
