Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join us working with our media client over the next few months to improve their CI/CD pipeline and migrate their existing products and infrastructure onto the new pipeline, whilst providing operational support and maintaining products.

The pipelines are written in Java, in which the successful applicant will be proficient as well having CI/CD experience.

They will be used to working in Scrum or Kanban methodologies, have performed pair programming, follow TDD practices and have experience working in DevOps.

Additionally, they will be a team player who enjoys mentoring and coaching of junior members while any previous knowledge or experience of Python, AWS, Kafka or Kubernetes (Clojure) would be advantageous.Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities

You will:

• have expertise in Java
• have excellent CI/CD knowledge
• have professional experience of working in projects using Agile Scrum/Kanban development processes
• enjoy pair programming and collaborating with other engineers
• be familiar with TDD
• have DevOps knowledge
• have knowledge of any of Python, AWS, Kafka or Kubernetes (desired)
• have a strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player
• have experience of writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation

Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
• Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
• Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
• You are flexible and curious in your approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional information

Duration of the contract: initially6 monthswith the possibility of extension FTC or contract IR 35.
