Commercial Sales Executive High Security Department

Our clients range from homeowners buying fencing for their gardens to Industry and High Security establishments, protecting facilities and equipment. We currently seek a hard-working professional to join and support our Sales team based in Ashford.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced salesperson with the ability to influence sales growth in Jacksons High Security department, focusing on selling our certified security products to a wide array of customers from utilities to defence.

The sales executive’s role is to lead client interaction and take ownership of incoming enquiries, prepare estimates and written quotations based on client requirements and surveyor’s visits, and periodically follow up active quotations to a sale. The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of a structured sales process from pre-qualifying customers and enquiries right through to close and be comfortable maintaining their own pipeline.

You will be presenting and following up on full and complete quotations from tender and general enquiries received into the department and ensuring all requirements of the tender submission have been completed, including Bill of Quantities, Submission Forms, etc.

The role requires good attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills together with persistence and resilience are key success drivers. An ability to think quickly and clearly will be required.

A good all-round education and strong computer skills are crucial to carrying out duties efficiently and effectively; a construction background is not a necessity as full training will be provided; however, strong sales skills and experience of handling multiple commercial accounts is.

Hours of work to be 9 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour lunch break.

Duties

Duties will include:

  1. Responding to all incoming customer enquiries and completing tenders for prospective clients.
  2. Preparing estimates and ensuring client specifications have been met prior to submitting quotations.
  3. Regularly receiving and making calls to increase sales enquiry and sales opportunities.
  4. Maintaining the ECRM customer database and pipeline reports.
  5. Maintaining the TM1 tender database.
  6. Forming relationships with prospective and repeat customers.
  7. Processing quotations to orders.
  8. Working with other internal departments to achieve customer expectations.
  9. Performing other duties as reasonably requested by your manager, from time to time.

Requirements

  1. Commercial sales experience (any industry).
  2. Experience of handling complex client enquiries.
  3. Experience of managing and maintaining a personal sales pipeline.
  4. Experience of managing customer expectations and an understanding of basic account management.
  5. Conversant with Excel, Outlook, Word, and Microsoft 365.
  6. A good level of numeracy.
  7. The ability to work efficiently and accurately to tight deadlines – a keen eye for detail is essential.
  8. An understanding and/or experience of the Construction Industry is very beneficial.
  9. Previous experience of dealing with LPCB 1175 certified products would be advantageous.
  10. The ability to work in a team and as an individual.
  11. Self-motivated, organised, tenacious, and methodical.

This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to split working between home and office once training and probation are completed; due to our location and a lack of public transport, own transport is essential.
