The Human Systems group at Triton practices a human-centered approach to design and deliver end-user driven solutions to our customers. Through our work developing products that help people perform challenging jobs in extreme environments, we are focused on physiological monitoring, advanced wearables, trauma and field care medical devices, and novel human-machine interfaces including haptics.
Position Summary
In this role you will be responsible for leading human-centered product design effort as we develop innovative solutions for our customers. You will offer vision and guidance to the multidisciplinary team as they perform user research, build prototypes, and work with subject matter experts to transform user feedback into actionable product requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of product definition and direction to technical team through user-centered observation methods, from subject matter expert interviews to formal, systematic human subjects research.
- Presentation of results to customers (written and oral).
- Support business development through proposal writing and the pursuit of strategic partnerships.
- Recognize and creatively solve complex problems.
You will be expected to work with colleagues on small teams, both within the Human Systems group and with other groups across Triton, on a diverse array of projects.
Qualifications
- Experience in various stages of product design process, from concept and prototyping, and into refinement, risk mitigation and validation.
- Experience working individually and within technical teams, including human factors, mechanical, and electrical.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Adaptability and desire to learn new technologies.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with design history management and regulatory compliance is desired.
- Experience with statistical analysis methods is desired.
- Experience with SBIR programs is desired.
Education/Experience
- BS in Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Biomedical Engineering or related engineering field; Advanced degree is desired.
- 3-7 years of experience working in human-centered product design or related fields.
