This is an excellent opportunity to take your place in Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) as a Senior Communications Business Partner.
The team supports Consumer Relationships and Consumer Lending, which both play a huge role in delivering an exciting growth strategy. We partner businesses and teams including Everyday Banking, Homes, Transport, and Fraud – working on stories which are as diverse as the support we provide to First Time Buyers, to how we’re becoming a mobile-first organisation and how we’re enabling the transition to electric vehicles. It’s an important part of the job to help colleagues understand the Group strategy and carefully handle critical reputational issues.
Day to day you’ll be:
- Helping us to advance the reputation of the bank through innovative, coordinated and creative communication plans that evidence effective storytelling and build pride in the Group.
- Working to deliver an integrated communications strategy which will support our Consumer teams.
- Providing informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation, anticipating sophisticated issues, challenges and opportunities and delivering solutions.
- A great partner to leaders and colleagues across the business, working alongside expert channel and business support teams within GCA to deliver outstanding communications activity.
- A key part of the Consumer business partnering team, planning and prioritising key activity, supporting the wider members of the team and deputising for the Head of Communications as necessary.
What You’ll Need
- Experience of working in a Communications role within a Financial Services/Investment Banking organisation.
- Brilliant communication skills to work with leaders to engage internal and external audiences, including our colleagues, customers and the media on our transformation story.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with our GCA colleagues in Colleague Communications & Experience, Media Relations, Social & Digital Media and Public Affairs to deliver outstanding communications and protect the Group’s reputation.
- Experience in a previous multi-discipline communications role is a must and knowledge and experience of retail banking is also really important.

- Experience in Media and Public Affairs.
