This well-known and highly regarded professional body are now seeking to recruit a Governance Manager on a full time, permanent basis. In supporting the Head of Department, you\’ll undertake a range of activities, including the provision of high quality, effective secretarial support at Management Team/Committee/ Council/Board level. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provides assistance to the Secretary on professional secretariat support to the Management Team, various Committees of the Board and Council as necessary.
  • Producing a forward plan of work, agenda planning, commissioning and writing papers, producing accurate minutes and summaries of action sheets, undertaking or following up on action points and ensuring that the Chairs are supported in advance of the meeting.
  • Provide effective scrutiny of complex papers ensuring accuracy and quality standards are maintained and providing challenge to contributors when necessary.

This role would suit a Chartered Governance Institute student or graduate with experience gained in a legal/governance or compliance based role that would have involved the organisation of and attending/minuting meetings. With great opportunity for development and taking on more responsibility, you must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the confidence to support and liaise with those at all levels.

The organisation is based in SW1 and has fantastic transport links. The organisation work on a hybrid basis with 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days from home (depending on the Board calendar). A full and detailed job description is available on request.
