About The Role & Team

Join our creative team at Disney as a Digital Designer! You’ll be at the heart of crafting captivating brand assets that span across all Disney Store touchpoints. From dynamic web and mobile app designs to eye-catching digital and print products, and impactful marketing campaigns, your creativity will help bring the magic of Disney to life for millions of fans around the world.

What You Will You Do

  • Transform marketing, promotional, and merchandising strategies into engaging creative deliverables for the site, app, emails, social and digital ads, as well as print, while upholding the Disney Store global creative direction principles.
  • Explore beyond the strategy with multiple drafts and explorations within the time allotted, utilizing visual storytelling, typography, layout, form, and color.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure the independent, accurate design and production of various projects.
  • Design weekly web content and marketing emails that effectively communicate the intended messages and goals. Oversee the entire email campaign cycle from ideation to execution.
  • Develop engaging social content for all social channels as directed.
  • Collaborate in brainstorming sessions for seasonal and tactical marketing campaigns with copywriters and other relevant team members.
  • Seek ways to enhance the e-commerce experience, focusing on mobile and responsive design.
  • Innovate ideation and inspire team members by introducing external ideas through competitive examples.
  • Demonstrate brand best practices in design thinking, encouraging team members to do the same.
  • Collaborate with site merchants, the buying team, marketing, planning, and other cross-functional teams to support and develop creative that aligns with marketing objectives.
  • Partner with copywriters to incorporate strategic messaging and calls to action into designs.
  • Engage in problem-solving conversations with cross-functional partners to provide solutions for messaging.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships that empower our creative brand evolution.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of digital graphic design solutions to briefs through HANK JIRA. Provide clear status updates and coordinate communication on all briefs with an appropriate sense of urgency, ensuring stakeholders are informed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Senior Creative Design Manager to ensure all creative is approved through the correct channels and follows franchise/brand creative guidelines.
  • Create animated content as required, including GIFs and MP4 videos, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree-level education in graphic/web design or an equivalent field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital design, with proven design and production skills. Demonstrable knowledge and awareness of the latest technologies, manufacturing processes, and current market trends.
  • Proficient in retail image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form, and color. Skilled at articulating the strategic choices behind design decisions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Apple Mac and related software, including the Adobe CC suite and later upgrades. Proven experience using Sketch, Illustrator, and Photoshop is essential.
  • Excellent understanding and skills in responsive web design, HTML, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve results.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English for business use is essential. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.
  • Commercially astute with a solid strategic mind and an active, hands-on approach to design. Ability to interpret business ideas into creative concepts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that demands a flexible response to any challenges. Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver creative work consistently, even under tight deadlines.
  • Creative thinker who supports risk-taking while complying with company guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Premiere Pro is beneficial. Experience using Jira and Google Docs is preferred. Previous experience in retail e-commerce is also preferred.
