Job Description
Quest Search & Selection are currently partnering with a Scale-up tech platform specialising in the distribution of FMCG product.
The Lead Commercial Analyst (Category Management & Pricing) position involves developing insights across all aspects of commercial performance, such as creating range assortments tailored to local customer needs, identifying new and high-performing products and managing pricing and promotions.
Key responsibilities of this Lead Category Analyst (Pricing & Promotion)
- Develop innovative measurement and analytical approaches to enhance understanding of performance and customers, integrating these insights into the Category team’s daily decision-making processes.
- Support business’s rapid growth by analysing extensive datasets to uncover insights that drive improvements in category performance
- Address complex business questions through detailed quantitative analysis and experimentation, providing meaningful and actionable insights.
- Create models and tools to inform pricing strategies, aiding Category Managers in maintaining a competitive edge while maximising margin opportunities.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by coaching and supporting teams to enhance their data literacy and confidence.
Key requirements of Lead Category Analyst (Pricing & Promotion) –
- Ideally having 3-5 years of experience in analytics or data science, preferably in grocery, trading, or category management.
- Ideally have experience in eCommerce, Retail or FMCG.
- Ideally a bachelor’s degree or similar in, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline is advantageous.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and databases, with the ability to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets.
- Experience with dbt, Python or R, or GitHub is a plus.
- Development experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Strong and confident communication skills, with expertise in data visualisation and storytelling.
