Their team blends technology, storytelling, and design to transport audiences into breathtaking, interactive worlds. They are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Technical Engineer to join our team and help push the boundaries of live experiences.

Job Overview:

As a Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technical systems that bring our immersive experiences to life. You will collaborate closely with creative designers, software developers, production teams, and AV specialists to ensure seamless integration of interactive technologies, lighting, sound, and special effects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement technical systems for immersive events, including AV, lighting, networking, and control systems.
  • Work with designers and content creators to integrate interactive technologies such as projection mapping, motion tracking, and real-time graphics.
  • Ensure seamless communication between various technical components, including servers, sensors, and automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during pre-production, installation, and live event execution.
  • Optimize hardware and software solutions for real-time performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source and test new technologies.
  • Maintain documentation, including schematics, system configurations, and technical workflows.
  • Provide technical support during events to ensure smooth operations.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance future projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor\’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Theatre, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role within immersive events, live entertainment, experiential marketing, or theme park industries.
  • Proficiency in AV systems, media servers, and interactive technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, automation, and control systems (e.g., DMX, OSC, MIDI, Artnet, TouchDesigner, Unreal Engine, or similar platforms).
  • Experience with projection mapping, LED walls, and interactive installations.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Amazing if you have it:

  • Experience with XR (Extended Reality), AR/VR, or real-time graphics engines.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation and system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication, rigging, or mechanical engineering.
  • Background in creative technology, interactive design, or computational arts.
