Job Description
Employed by the owner, you will be working from home and an office in London. You will be employed to lead the mechanical engineering for a large, pumped storage project in the UK, reporting into the Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for the assurance and oversight on the hydro-mechanical / electromechanical design, implementation, operation, and optimisation of the project from inception to operation. The role will be focused on the engineering design and delivery of all non-civil hydropower equipment across the reservoirs, intakes / tailraces, and powerhouses.
You will be working within a dynamic and hard-working team with a track record of solid project execution to a high standard. In the long term, you will support the company for other renewable technology projects in their portfolio.
What you will bring to the team:
- Ideally, at least 15 years of experience within hydropower projects.
- Experience in the mechanical design and installation of turbines within hydropower.
- Experience of oversight of at least one project from concept to completion.
- Project management and technical leadership experience.
- Experience preparing for tender packages.
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering; higher qualifications are well-regarded.
- Chartership or other professional registration.
- Project Management qualification.

An above market related salary paid in GBP with a hybrid working model. Their offer will be above your current salary (within reason). You will be expected to work from the London office a few times a month where travel will be compensated, depending on the distance travelled.
