Head of Commercial Finance | HealthTech | Series B
Zanda is partnering with a hypergrowth HealthTech at the Series B stage as they look to identify an exceptional Head of Commercial Finance to join the business. The business has 4x revenues last year and is targeting similar growth rates for 2025, aiming to be a £100m ARR business in the next 2-3 years.
We’re looking for a highly analytical, curious, and creative individual to lead the finance function, working closely with the leadership team to define and deliver on the business’s long-term strategy and financial goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance within a high-growth startup environment, likely as a Head of FP&A, with a proven track record of driving financial strategy and operational excellence.
This is a commercial-focused Finance Leader position and is likely to provide the pathway towards a VP Finance/CFO role for the right individual. This is an on-site role in London with a flexible (hybrid) office arrangement, requiring the ideal profile to be in the office 2-3 days a week.
What experiences you will gain
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support company strategy, growth opportunities, and fundraising.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
- Analyse financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with Functional heads to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Prepare and update financial forecasts, incorporating business performance and trends.
- Monitor and report on budget variances and coordinate actions across teams to address these variances as needed.
- Work alongside our founders on fundraising process strategy and requirements, including financial budgets and walkthroughs.
- Respond to investor due diligence requests.
- Manage the current finance team, including our Head of Finance and Finance Manager.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes across both our UK and US entities.
- Support in the development of board packs.
- Deliver monthly financial result summaries to our founders and leadership team.
What background should you have before you press apply!
- Likely to have started their career within the Big 4, Top Tier Investment Bank / Consulting with subsequent experience within a startup or scaleup environment and having led a Finance team.
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategic planning.
- Proven track record of driving financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Keen eye and attention to detail, matched with the comfort of working in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity and the ability to adapt processes and forecasting assumptions are key.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Highly proficient in accounting software (Xero preferable) and working with Excel/GSheets, comfortable with data analysis and presentation.
