Thorn Baker are working with a specialist civil engineering contractor who are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis for a position near Bristol. Our client is a family run business who have been operating for over 50 years across the South West of England. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take the next step in their career and join a growing business.

What we are looking for:
- Minimum of HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management.
- Experience within civil engineering
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence required as this role is both site- and office-based.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure weekly and monthly payments are processed efficiently, any disputed items are resolved, allowing site works to proceed unhindered and give an accurate picture of site financial status.
- Produce site valuations and present to the Board of Directors
- Liaise with other departments on time to ensure sites run efficiently.
- Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract and materials orders.
- Providing commercial support to the site/procurement/estimating teams
- Support with the training of more junior Quantity Surveyors
- Aid the Manager when making key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings as the relevant subject expert.
