Job Description

My client, a global engineering business are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee their warehouse operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of warehouse activities and co-ordinate all operational tasks across a busy despatch operation.

Duties of the Warehouse Supervisor:

  • Provide direction, instruction and guidance and manage day to day staff task allocation.
  • Manage resource to ensure all areas are manned and equipped to meet business requirements.
  • Gain an understanding of relevant departmental KPI’s and what they relate too.
  • Ability to interpret data to support key functions and departmental improvements.
  • Ensure all safety inspections are complete and manage risk assessments.
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members.
  • Ensure that the factory, warehouse and yard areas are clean & tidy.
  • Maintain working practices & processes SOP/Skills matrix/Work instructions
  • Carry out team member objective setting and individual 1-2-1 coaching and feedback sessions.

Experience & Qualifications of the Warehouse Supervisor:

  • Ability or experience of leading a high performing multi-skilled team in a fast paced despatch department.
  • Excellent customer service skills .
  • Demonstrable problem solving ability.
  • Experience of working with a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Sound understanding of operating and applying Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).
  • Experience of using and implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) tools.
  • Supervisory, management or team leader experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
