Job Description

Scientist / Senior Scientist – T-cell Immunology (TCR/TIL Specialist + In vivo)

We are hiring a Scientist / Senior Scientist to join our T-cell Immunology team and support development of TCR-T and TIL in vitro assays and to carry out in vivo T-cell immunotherapy work. This role will be central to our T-cell rejuvenation platform and the characterisation of our newly discovered reprogramming mechanism. We are looking for ambitious scientists who are keen to join a high-achieving, fast-paced and innovation-focused pre-clinical biotech at an early stage where their work can have a high impact. Our team is close-knit and values members who can collaborate, clearly express ideas and drive projects to completion. You will join a team of around 12 scientists as an early and central team member.

Our company uses epigenetic reprogramming to reverse age-accumulated traits and increase cellular functionality. Our focus is on the rejuvenation of the immune system (HSCs and T-cells) for therapeutic application in transplantation and cancer immunotherapy. The company was founded from a Nobel lab at the University of Cambridge and backed by a significant VC financing round from US and European investors. We are developing a newly discovered mechanism for cell reprogramming which we believe will be a step-change in longevity science.

If this project sounds exciting to you, we would love to share more data and discuss your ideas and background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lentiviral transduction of T-cells with TCR constructs and CAR constructs. Potential use of CRISPR-targeted integration at TRAC locus.
  • Isolation and culture of mouse TIL T-cells for in vitro and in vivo assays.
  • Establishing in vitro T-cell killing assays using different TCR and TIL models – to include target cell engineering, T-cell engineering, repeat stimulation killing assays, Incucyte assays, Flow Cytometry analysis.
  • In vivo tumour killing assays using established T-cell therapy models in mice – to include establishing tumours, dosage optimisation and evaluation of T-cell efficacy.
  • Using the established in vitro assays to screen rejuvenation factors and identify novel rejuvenation factor combinations for specific T-cell therapies
  • Support T-cell culture across the Immunology team.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions on optimising T-cell assays and in vivo workflows to increase efficacy.
  • Support partnership discussions with T-cell immunotherapy companies – to include data package production and strategic discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in Immunology or a related discipline.
  • Deep expertise in TCR-T cell or TIL immunotherapy. CAR-T cell experience also relevant.
  • Extensive experience of T-cell tissue culture – other tissue culture also relevant.
  • Highly competent with in vivo mouse tumour models.
  • Experience with lentiviral and/or CRISPR transduction and gene editing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows in immunology.
  • Curiosity, drive, and a problem-solving mindset—passionate about pushing the boundaries of science.
  • Strong collaborative skills—able to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with use of the Incucyte for T-cell killing assay characterisation.
  • Understanding of stem-cell biology and cellular reprogramming.
  • Experience in NGS library preparation and qPCR.
  • Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) and data management best practices.

What We Offer

  • Highly competitive salary (£50,000 – £65,000, depending on experience).
  • Stock options plan—early-stage biotech with high-growth potential.
  • 28 days annual leave + public holidays.
  • Private health insurance.
  • Employer-matched pension plan.
  • The opportunity to work at the forefront of longevity science—driving breakthroughs in cellular rejuvenation.
  • A fast-moving, high-impact environment where your work will directly shape the future of regenerative medicine.
