Reports to: EC&I Supervisor
Hours: 07:30 – 16:00 Mon to Fri
25 days holiday
Main Responsibilities
- Utilise Pemac CMMS to receive work, log work histories and allocate spares to the job.
- Identify failure modes of electrical equipment and make recommendations to prevent further failures.
- Replace, dismantle, and repair AC and DC motors, including cleaning, changing brushes, replacing bearings and couplings, and testing.
- Install, repair, and test lighting systems.
- Investigate and rectify faults in portable handheld equipment.
- Build electrical panels.
- Perform cable installation work.
- Fault find on a variety of equipment.
- Install, repair, service, and test medium voltage and low voltage power systems.
- Service and repair equipment used on cranes and lifts e.g. safety devices, control and protective devices.
- Occasional fault finding on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Repair compressors, gas booster systems, and boilerhouse equipment.
- Occasional shift cover might be requested.
Required Experience
- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.
- Computer literate with practical experience of CMMS systems.
- Candidates should possess a formal technical qualification in Electrical Engineering and be familiar with the 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
- A minimum of 5 years industrial experience working in either an electrical or instrumentation role. Domestic experience will not be considered.
- Ability to fault find and think on their feet.
- Must be able to understand and use electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques.
