We are recruiting an Assistant Editor to join a dynamic, high performing team at Ebury Self, part of Ebury, the UK’s largest non-fiction publisher, on a fixed term basis to February 2026.

Ebury Self , through our Vermilion, Rider and Happy Place imprints, is one of the most commercially successful parts of Penguin Random House and home to world-leading authors across wellbeing, personal development, health, parenting and spirituality.

The opportunity

Ebury Self are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Editor to support the team and help create bestselling books that inform, empower and spark new directions. You will be responsible for administrative duties across the team, as well as supporting commissioners by project managing a number of titles throughout the publishing process. The role includes drafting cover copy, briefing jackets, creating and liaising on production schedules and negotiating with freelancers.

What you’ll bring

You will have the following essential criteria:

  • Have an eagle-eye for detail, with proofreading skills
  • Have the ability to multitask and prioritise a varied workload under pressure
  • Be a confident and diplomatic communicator, able to deliver stand-out author care
  • Have experience working in non-fiction publishing

For this role we expect that you will work from the office twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
