Quality Engineer, Birmingham, £Negotiable
This client is a design and manufacturing company, producing a variety of products made from differing materials and finishes.
They are actively looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to improve their quality control. Ideally, you will have a thorough understanding of manufacturing and finishing products.
The Role Will Include
- Investigating and logging quality concerns whether they are raised internally or by customers.
- Overseeing correction of quality issues by working with our engineering, design, and production teams, as well as suppliers.
- Suggesting product improvements to overcome quality issues, which may include assembly jigs or gauges.
- Forming healthy working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors using regular communication and visits.
- Inspecting scrap from each production unit to identify trends and mitigate further issues.
- Educating factory operatives on expected standards for current and new products.
- Cost analysis on all quality complaints to realise commercial value of correction or impact of factory operative mistake/negligence.
- Reviewing operating procedures and updating where necessary to improve efficiency.
It is important that you have the ability to work autonomously and are comfortable communicating with people at every level of a business.
Working hours will be 0745-1645 Monday to Thursday (lunch break 1245-1315), and Friday 0745-1245.
Holiday entitlement is 25 days + bank holidays.
