A great Managerial opportunity has arisen within Talbot Timber, our timber manufacturing division based in Pembroke Dock.
Talbot Timber specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of Trussed Rafters and Posi-Joist, Floor/Roof Solutions. Our Manufacturing & Distribution Centre is an impressive 100,000sqft and houses our extensive range of high-quality specialist services including preservative treatment, cutting, machining and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a high-quality design & estimating service for both Roof Trusses & Engineered Floor Joists to our customers.
- Managing the design team on a day-to-day basis, allocating work between the team.
- Ensuring professional standards are maintained for all designs and work is checked.
- Reviewing architectural plans and liaising with customers and contractors to produce accurate detailed designs and quotations using the market leading Mitek software suite.
- Managing process improvements and working collaboratively with the Timber merchant team.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards are adhered to.
- The day-to-day management of all aspects of the Timber Engineering department including Sales, Production, Financial Controls, Operations, People & HR, H&S, Procurement, Stock and Logistics.
- Ensuring that sales and profit targets are achieved and that the team is sales-focused, providing top-class customer service both to end-user customers and within the LBS Group.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A motivated self-starter with a strong attention to detail and meticulous accuracy.
- Previous experience and understanding of specialist design software from Mitek suite or similar is essential in the role.
- A commitment to providing first-class customer service from enquiry stage through to delivery of product to site.
Hours of Work: An average of 38.75hrs Monday to Friday.
Salary is circa £40,000 per annum depending on experience.
