Contek Recruitment are currently working with the UK’s leading precision machine tool spindle manufacturer, in their search for a new Production Planning Engineer to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Coventry, West Midlands.

Salary Info: £35k – £40k per year (Depending on experience)

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (07:30 AM until 16:30 PM) and Friday (07:30 AM until 12:30 PM)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. To understand the company quality systems and improve with the managers and directors.
  2. Preparation of quotations/ e-mails as required.
  3. Organisation of engineering drawing systems.
  4. Preparation of spreadsheets for costing and budget analysis purposes.
  5. Maintaining existing and setting up new supplier relationships as required.
  6. Preparation and issuing of Purchase Orders to suppliers.
  7. Sorting out supplier and customer engineering queries as and when they arise, liaising with engineering contractors as required.
  8. Assistance with packing and despatch as and when required.
  9. Attending to visitors in a polite and courteous manner, looking after customers and suppliers as required.
  10. Customer and supplier site visits will be required.
  11. Marshalling of parts to prepare kits of parts ready for assembly.
  12. Identification of parts shortages and chasing up shortages, ordering missing items etc.

Requirements:

  1. Experience with materials processing.
  2. Engineering degree or HND qualification is preferred.
  3. Industry experience will suffice if no degree.
  4. Engineering qualification of ONC/HNC or equivalent is preferred.
  5. Must have 5 GCSE’s or more.
