ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – Tampa, FL (relocation package available)

Client seeks a senior level Electrical Engineer in Tampa, Florida to design-build a high voltage control system for standby generators including transformer protection schemes after analyzing the field requirements. This role requires the development of test components and systems to match client specifications including switchgear, auxiliary components from 480V to 15kV, automatic transfer schemes, standby generators and paralleling equipment, motor control centers, transformers, and UPS systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Supports manufacturing, setup, and installation.
  2. Designs high voltage control systems to meet customer requirements.
  3. Must have application and design knowledge of switchgear, transfer switches, standby generators, HMI, PLCs, Allen Bradley, & Siemens controls for medium and high voltage applications from 480V through 15kV.
  4. Creates product quality by designing electrical testing methods for the manufacturing and quality control team while assisting them with final product testing.
  5. Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with five to ten years of medium to high voltage control systems experience.
  6. Prefers someone with comprehensive knowledge of medium voltage switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, programming, panel layout, component selection, testing, and modifications.
  7. Must have knowledge of panel board, lighting, outlet, grounding, conduit, and wiring design.
  8. Must have the ability to create design layout drawings, schematics, wiring, and interconnection diagrams.
  9. Prefers someone with a willingness to travel less than 10% overnight as needed to define customer requirements with the sales or customer support team.
  10. Supports engineering with software knowledge in MS Office and AutoCAD; AutoCAD Electric and SolidWorks.
  11. Needs interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with teams at various levels of the organization managing projects, and some leadership skills.
