Director of Music

Christ’s College Music Department is seeking a forward-thinking and innovative director of music, with the ability to teach and lead the music programme for Y9–13 students. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing ideally on 28 April 2025 (term 2), but there may be some flexibility around the starting date to support the successful candidate. We are seeking demonstrated leadership ability in an individual who enjoys supporting and encouraging young musicians.

Applicants should be willing to be involved in the co-curricular and pastoral care aspects of the college.

Christ’s College is an Anglican school for all, founded in 1850 by an Act of Parliament, its history inextricably linked with the European settlement of Christchurch and the Canterbury region. We are one of the leading independent boys’ schools in New Zealand, with strong academic, sports, service and cultural programmes and a wide range of co-curricular activities. We are a school where boys thrive. We are dedicated to achieving our mission: Each boy at his best.

The successful candidate will join a thriving and well-resourced team. We offer excellent working conditions in an attractive environment.
