The Finance Systems Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance Systems team in the Directorate of Finance at the University of Manchester.
Reporting to the Head of Finance Systems, the Finance Systems Manager will lead the Finance Systems ‘business-as-usual’ (BAU) team, including line management of 2 to 3 Finance Systems Administrators. Primary responsibilities of the team include providing systems support to users, overseeing systems processes at month ends, responding to requests and issues as they arise, report development and distribution, and ensuring systems-based control and reconciliations processes are in place and well managed, including reconciliation of inbound integrated systems data.
The Finance Systems Manager will also work with other members of the Finance Systems and IT teams to support and deliver ongoing systems developments, including working with test scripts and procedures, and providing training documentation.
While the role predominantly follows standard business hours, there may be occasional requirements for out-of-hours or weekend work to support urgent incidents or critical updates. Flexibility and a commitment to maintaining system uptime during these times are important aspects of the role.
