The Role:
This is a broad and all-encompassing Building Surveying position. You’ll be expected to undertake the following:
- Conducting Building Surveys: Performing detailed inspections of buildings to assess their condition, identify defects, and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Pre-Acquisition Surveys: Evaluating properties for potential buyers or tenants, providing comprehensive reports on the building’s condition and advising on any potential risks or future costs.
- Dilapidations: Inspecting properties to assess the tenant’s obligations at the end of a lease, preparing schedules of dilapidations, and negotiations.
- Overseeing Refurbishments and Fit-Outs: Managing the refurbishment or fit-out of buildings, including planning, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Contract Administration: Handling the contractual aspects of construction projects, such as preparing contracts, managing variations, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Providing Professional Advice: Offering expert advice to clients on building issues, including maintenance, repairs, compliance with building regulations, and energy efficiency.
About You:
Building Surveying degree (BSc or MSc) – 2.1 grade minimum. The ideal candidate can be fresh out of University and must have a strong desire to become a Chartered member of the RICS within a reasonable timeframe. Excellent APC support and counselling will be given in return.
