The role
Our client, a leading organization in the events industry, is seeking a skilled Show Director to drive the success of their prominent events. This pivotal role involves full-spectrum oversight, from strategic planning and operational execution to sales and marketing. The Show Director will collaborate closely with operations, marketing, and sales teams to create and implement strategies that ensure events are delivered within budget while offering a high-quality experience for exhibitors and delegates. This position also includes relationship-building with suppliers, media, and commercial partners to enhance event reach and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management : Work with the Operations Director to establish an efficient, cost-effective operational strategy that elevates event production quality and maximizes exhibitor and delegate satisfaction.
- Marketing Collaboration : Partner with the Marketing Director to develop campaigns targeting the right audience demographics, featuring compelling content, and managing visitor acquisition costs. Oversee key industry partnerships and select agencies as needed to optimize promotional efforts.
- Sales Leadership : Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed targets for exhibitor engagement, sponsorships, and other revenue streams. Support the sales team with clear strategies, activity targets, and performance-boosting sessions such as role-plays and best practice workshops.
- Relationship Building : Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, associations, and commercial partners to expand the network, creating new business opportunities and strategic alliances.
- Rebook Process & CRM Management : Oversee the rebook process, leading the team to secure repeat exhibitors. Ensure the maintenance of an updated prospect database to support the CRM strategy and enhance the quality of exhibitor communications.
