What You’ll Be Doing
Do you have a passion for finance operations and accuracy in reporting? Are you detail-oriented with a knack for managing reconciliations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards? We are seeking a dedicated Finance Operations Analyst to join our growing Finance team.
As a Finance Operations Analyst, you will play a critical role in the financial reporting process, ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately, and all reporting requirements are met. This role is perfect for someone eager to work in a dynamic FinTech environment and contribute to the development of efficient and robust financial processes.
- Debt Sale Management : Support the development and management of debt sale processes to ensure alignment with business objectives. Coordinate between UK and USA subsidiaries and oversee legal requirements.
- Process Automation and Improvement : Analyse existing systems to create automated solutions, enhancing reporting capabilities through SQL development and exhibit confidence and initiative to challenge and improve existing processes and procedures.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation : Prepare and justify monthly balance sheet reconciliations, swiftly identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Payroll Management : Oversee payroll processes, ensuring reconciliations are conducted for pensions, student loans, and year-end accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation : Design systems for managing receivables, payables, expenses, invoices, and late payments. Develop comprehensive reports to support balance management and timely error detection.
- Standard Operating Procedures : Develop SOPs for team members to streamline customer allocations, refunds, and expense operations.
- Compliance : Assist in maintaining accurate returns and records for relevant organisations such as ONS, FCA, and Companies House.
- Stakeholder Communication : Communicate professionally and proactively with various internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating an inquisitive nature.
- Audit Support : Collaborate with external auditors during audits, handling queries and ensuring timely resolution of audit issues.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with other finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and support additional financial tasks as needed.
We’re Looking For
- Qualifications :
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) – qualified or part-qualified accountant
- Strong understanding of IFRS and/or UK GAAP
- Experience :
- The role calls for an individual who has excellent knowledge and understanding of systems; experience of change management; the ability to communicate effectively and at all levels and be highly organised to meet the diverse objectives and target deadlines
- Demonstrable experience or exposure in relevant accounting roles with experience in financial services either from practice or within industry
- Experience with ERP or other integrated financial systems is an advantage
- Skills :
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SQL reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships across various teams
- Attributes :
