Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Scottish Power are currently recruiting Snr Project Managers to work in the EGL1 Cables team and WL2 Project team. These are £multibillion infrastructure projects that will vastly improve the UK’s Energy network and will be a significant contribution to the Government’s Net Zero target.
As a Snr Project Manager at Scottish Power, you will contribute to and work through the various requirements of the development process, including tendering, delivery, programme management, budget control and forecasting, as well as contributing to the engineering solutions of the project.
You will apply your engineering knowledge and experience to facilitate the development of these projects, including engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient and timely delivery whilst minimising risks.
What you’ll be doing
- Promoting internally and externally, a strong emphasis on Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality compliance.
- As a Senior PM, responsibilities vary from supporting tendering opportunities and contract awards to leading client onsite teams, including financial governance, and forecasting across the full project lifecycle.
- Assisting in the contract and financial management of all assigned contracts.
- Managing direct and indirect resources to ensure achievement of key sustainability environmental, planning, procurement, design, construction, commissioning and completion milestones.
- Conducting progress, co-ordination interface meetings with the project team, client and contractors, and promoting effective communication and information sharing.
- Taking responsibility for team compliance with quality management systems, completion and closure of file documentation and driving continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Engineering degree qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant industry.
- Experience in a senior responsible position managing infrastructure projects such as Utilities, Road, Rail or other Major CAPEX projects.
- Project management methodology, risk and control awareness.
- Experience with procurement and exposure to projects with NEC4 and FIDIC contracts.
- Thorough understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation applicable to construction projects, particularly CDM.
- Experience in Transmission and Distribution and/or Marine works are not essential but highly desirable.
