Automation Test Engineer

As part of our Managed Applications Services, we provide day-to-day support for applications running in a mission-critical environment on a 24x7 basis. We are looking for an individual to join our team that provides support and development to our Command and Control services, focusing on the testing of these applications.

The role would include:

• Providing day-to-day support of the teams delivering existing services and software enhancements as defined by our client.
• Working closely with the team to understand business requirements and how this translates into the technical solution, providing guidance and estimates on the testing required.
• Developing, maintaining and executing test scripts across multiple applications.
• Performing automation, functional and non-functional tests as part of software development lifecycles including Agile or Waterfall.
• Identifying and communicating potential defects, such as where a change has diverged from the expected result.
• Working within a close-knit team to maintain high standards of testing and continue to improve outcomes.
• Making use of your experience of test automation.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Experience of testing within an Application Support environment, ideally with experience of the full software development lifecycle and how this applies to the testing of software.
• Testing certifications such as ISTQB.
• The ability to apply technical expertise within a service delivery environment and develop technical solutions without adversely impacting the operational effectiveness of the supported systems.
• A good understanding of ITIL.
• Strong interpersonal skills for regular communication with our client.
• Any previous experience within Public Sector organisations would be welcomed.
