Role Overview:
We are expanding our buying team and seeking a highly experienced jewellery professional to join our team of four buyers. While previous buying experience is not required, the ideal candidate must have a strong background in high jewellery (not fashion jewellery) and a deep understanding of diamonds and gemstones. We will provide full training in the buying process, but a strong foundation in jewellery craftsmanship, quality assessment, and industry trends is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Jewellery Sourcing & Procurement: Select and purchase high-value natural and lab-grown diamonds for B2B clients, ensuring quality and market alignment.
- Supplier & Market Analysis: Evaluate supplier pricing, product quality, and trends to guide purchasing decisions.
- Negotiation & Relationship Management: Cultivate supplier relationships, negotiating competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Inventory & Data Management: Use Excel and analytical tools to track stock levels, pricing trends, and supplier performance.
- Collaboration & Support: Work with internal teams to ensure smooth procurement processes and timely stock availability.
- Product Expertise: Maintain expert knowledge of diamond grading, jewellery craftsmanship, and industry trends.
Key Requirements:
- Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of high jewellery, gemstones, and diamonds. Experience as a Jewellery Buyer or CAD Designer is a plus.
- B2B Experience: Familiarity with the business-to-business jewellery market and industry standards.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and data-driven decision-making.
- Negotiation & Communication: Skilled in negotiations and building supplier relationships.
- Organization & Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple suppliers, track inventory, and maintain structured records.
- Market Awareness: Understanding of luxury jewellery trends and client expectations.
