Sen Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our wonderful SEN schools. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be working closely with the children to provide social, emotional, and physical support.

Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
• Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, including those with autism, ADHD, SEMH or other learning disabilities
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with teachers to create and maintain an organized classroom setting
• Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their engagement and participation
• Help students with daily tasks such as eating, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Monitor student behavior and intervene when necessary to maintain a positive learning environment
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress

• Be enthusiastic, and want to work with SEN children
• Experience working with children, particularly in a school or childcare setting
• Ability to effectively educate and engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Familiarity with special education practices and strategies is preferred
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
