A leading UK law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Advisor to support their growing Compliance function in the heart of London.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and supporting the wider legal and business teams. This is a broad and varied position, offering exposure to AML, conflicts, GDPR, training, and internal audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and maintain compliance policies, onboarding procedures, and CDD documentation
- Conduct risk assessments and ongoing monitoring of a diverse client base
- Advise on AML/CTF queries, potential conflicts, and data protection matters
- Coordinate compliance inductions and training (in-person and online)
- Support the Head of Compliance on audits, Lexcel/CQS renewals, and file reviews
- Produce high-quality reports and data analysis for senior stakeholders
- Supervise and support junior compliance staff
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of SRA Standards and AML regulations
- Previous experience in a law firm within the last 12 months
- Sound understanding of GDPR and conflict management
- Experience in training delivery and reporting
- Confident decision-maker with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable supervising others and engaging across departments
Desirable:
- 3+ years’ experience in a UK regulated law firm
- AML Certification (e.g. ICA)
- Familiarity with Lexcel, CQS or ISO accreditation standards
