About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at an \”Outstanding\” SEN School in Stockport This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of students who require additional support with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, supporting them in both individual and group settings. You will play a key role in helping students access their education and improve their overall well-being, ensuring they can reach their full potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
Assist with the development and implementation of personalised learning plans.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Support students in managing their emotions and behaviours in a constructive way.
Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to track and monitor student progress.
Help students develop social skills and improve their self-confidence.The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
A passion for supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
