Are you an experienced planning professional ready to make your mark with one of the UK’s leading residential developers? We’re looking for a strategic and commercially focused Town Planning Manager to join our growing team and drive forward our ambitious development pipeline across the UK.About the RoleAs Town Planning Manager, you’ll play a key role in identifying, securing, and delivering planning permissions for new residential developments. Reporting to the Planning Director, you’ll lead on planning strategies, manage external consultants, and liaise with local authorities to secure timely consents in line with the company’s land and development objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the preparation and submission of planning applications for residential schemes, from initial feasibility through to consent.Work closely with land, technical, design, and legal teams to ensure planning risks are mitigated early.Represent the company at public consultations, planning committees, and appeals.Build and maintain strong relationships with local planning authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders.Monitor local plans and planning policy developments to inform land acquisition strategies.Contribute to site appraisals and support land bids with sound planning advice.What We’re Looking ForA degree in Town Planning or a related field (RTPI accredited).MRTPI membership (essential).A minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning, ideally with a mix of local authority and private sector (housebuilding or consultancy experience highly desirable).Proven track record of managing planning applications and appeals, preferably in a volume housebuilding or residential development environment.Strong understanding of the UK planning system, including NPPF and local planning processes.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence to lead meetings and present to stakeholders.Highly organised, commercially aware, and able to work across multiple projects simultaneously.Why Join Us?Work with a national leader known for quality and innovation in housebuilding.Join a forward-thinking and supportive team with a strong pipeline of sites.Excellent long-term career prospects within a high-growth, PLC environment.Competitive package including bonus, company car/allowance, pension, and other benefits.
