Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and self-driven Senior Intelligence Analyst. This individual will play a critical role in the overall delivery of projects. This individual is expected to both contribute to the reporting process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality project deliverables to clients, as well as advancing data collection capabilities and integrating modern techniques and developing more advanced technological methodologies.
The senior reporting analyst will report into the Project Manager, and will work closely with data analysts on the team. This is a core team position. TGSN is a team of field researchers, analysts, programme implementers, software and machine learning engineers and thought leaders dedicated to doing development differently. We combine cutting-edge technology with world-class analysis and participative programme design to deliver projects that improve lives. The team is partly based in London (UK), and partly international who predominantly work UK hours – this role is for someone based around London that can commute to our London office 2x a week.
Duties
- Specific responsibilities may include the following but will be finalised with the respective manager.
- Conduct open-source data collection and investigations, in line with project requirements.
- Draft, edit and review tailored intelligence reporting according to client deliverables, including monthly data-driven reports and ad-hoc deep dives, where required.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency of the OSINT reporting process.
- Stay abreast of subject matter expertise and geopolitical developments relevant to project output.
- Develop and enhance TGSN’s proprietary technological capabilities and identify opportunities to integrate across project work streams.
- Collaborate with the wider team to guide on collection tools, best practices and techniques associated with open-source data collection.
- Ensure the preparation and submission of reports in a timely and accurate manner, adhering strictly to the deadlines set by TGSN.
- Maintain open, clear, and regular communication, ensuring that all milestones, challenges, and updates are promptly shared and discussed.
- Receive, analyse, and act upon feedback, making necessary adjustments to processes and deliverables to enhance project outcomes.
Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in international development or security sector.
- Hands-on experience as an intelligence analyst, including advanced OSINT, political risk or defence/security analysis.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Strong research, investigative and writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling materials.
- Astute geopolitical understanding, strong working knowledge of the international development industry.
- Understanding of data collection, processing, and innovation (including Python/GitHub/web scraping).
- Ability to analyse trends, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
